Incredible Camps
Incredible camps are held during the months of June, July, and August. These
incredible camps are held in various cities and provides each student with daily
instructions on various medical topics. Students are also taught to perform many
medical procedure skills.
Day Classes / Night Classes
We have classes in major cities covering a wide variety of topics and
procedure skills. Class size is limited to allow adequate instruction time for
each student.
Special Classes
Special Classes are held in various towns by request. Groups can have The
Incredible Medical School come to their town for special classes. Sign up your
group for one of the special classes currently being offered. Also, individuals
are encouraged to register for a special class. When we have enough students for
a full class from your town or area, you will be notified of the class and date.
WE ARE NOT A TYPICAL
MINI MEDICAL SCHOOL!
The Incredible
Medical School, after presenting the basic science
information needed, focuses more on medical procedures and skills in the camps.
The "special class" sessions provide a more in-depth basic science background
prior to diagnostic test and procedures in that clinical area.
Many of the procedure skills we teach
are the same procedure skills physicians learn as interns and residents after
medical school.
The Incredible Medical
School is not the same as the usual "Mini Med School" or "Med Camp".
Most "Mini Med
Schools" meet for 2 or 3
hours a night once a week for several weeks. They are designed to enhance you
knowledge of medicine, illnesses, and health. There is typically a clinical
lecture series plus basic science as it relates to medicine that meets once a
week and provide students information on some of the same subjects studies by
real medical students. Some mini med schools augment the lectures with
laboratory tours, hands-on demonstrations, videos, and more. Example
topics are cell biology, biochemistry, cell metabolism, molecular biology,
genetic engineering, immunology, virology, neurosciences, endocrinology,
oncology, anatomy physiology, and cancer.
In some "Med Camps", students observe nurses on their daily activities, observing nursing tasks and interacting with patients through various volunteer duties. Students spend a day with a nurse in various units of the hospital – emergency dept, obstetrics , orthopedic, geriatric, pediatric, surgery, family practice, and cardiology. Students may also have daily sessions in such things as vital signs, wheelchair safety, and concepts such as CPR.
