Incredible Camps

Our day camps are the most amazing, informative, educational, and just plain fun activities available to the medically interested general public. Camps are usually divided for two age groups.  Only in actual medical school can you learn some of the medical skill procedures we teach. Our week long day camps cover an enormous variety of information and skills.

Some of the medical procedure skills we teach using highly accurate anatomical models are:
Cardiopulmonary resuscitation
Drawing blood for lab tests
Arterial blood gases
Delivering babies
Intravenous catheter insertion
X-Ray reading
Basic EKG reading
Blood oxygen measurement
Physical exam
Applying casts and splints
Oxygen administration
Pacemaker insertion
Dialysis
Intubation (
inserting a breathing tube into the lungs)
Thoracentesis (
needle insertion to remove fluid from the lungs)
Nasogastric tube (
insertion of tube thru nose into stomach)
Gastric lavage (
washing out the stomach)
Foley catheter (
insertion of tube into the bladder)
Chest tube (
insertion for a collapsed lung)
Endoscopy (
using a camera to look into the stomach and intestines)
Suturing lacerations (
sewing cuts)
Auscultation (
listening to the sounds of the heart, lungs, and bowels)
Defibrillation (
shocking the heart)
Vital signs (
blood pressure, pulse, respirations, & temperature)
Using an otoscope (
ear exam)
Using an ophthalmoscope (
eye exam)
 

 

Most camps are held during the months of June, July, and August. These incredible camps are held in various cities and provides each student with daily instructions on various medical topics. Students are also taught to perform many medical procedure skills.

Every incredible camp student receives a bag with multiple medical items such as a stethoscope, reflex hammer, blood pressure cuff, doctor coat, scissors, thermometer, pen light, needle holder, hemostat, tape measure, tuning fork, pregnancy calculator, tongue blades, suture, and sample prescription pad (items subject to vary or change).
